Reminder: Update Softaculous & Fantastico De Luxe Installs

If you have installed any scripts with Softaculous or Fantastico De Luxe (via your cPanel), this is a reminder to check and see if there are any script updates available for you to install.  Keeping your scripts updated is the best way for your site(s) remain safe while you are on the Web.  Whichever one you used: Softaculous or Fantastico De Luxe, you login to your cPanel and go to that particular installer and look for updates for your scripts.  Updates can be applied in just a few clicks!

If you need help moving all your files and databases from a Subdomain hosted here at FanStar.org to a Domain that is also hosted here at FanStar.org, we can do it for you very easily.  Also, if your account is hosted elsewhere on another host and you want to move it here, just contact us regarding getting a “cPanel-to-cPanel Transfer”.   There is no cost for this service.  It comes with your FanStar.org account.  Any questions, please contact me to discuss.

P.S.  Don’t forget to update your ad code(s) when you move.  :)

Just bought a crapload of domains (lol).  Some of them are for new applicants, some are for current hostees that are upgrading from subdomains to domains. and some are renewals for expiring domains.  I’ll be setting up all of these domains on the server today.  I’ll send your account information as soon as I am done.  If you have a site hosted elsewhere that you need moved over,  you’ll need to contact me with your cPanel username and password so I can do the move.

NO .tk URLs on applications!

When you are filling out an application for hosting and/or domains, do not put a .tk URL on there, because that is NOT your real URL.   Your real URL is the one that is being cloaked by .tk.   Please put your real URL on all applications.  We are not interested in URL redirection services.  We want to know where your sites really are.  Thank you!

How to Send Me an E-mail!

If you send me an e-mail and I reply to you, when you reply back,  PLEASE INCLUDE MY PREVIOUS RESPONSE on the e-mail, so I can more easily keep track of what we were talking about.  A response from you a week or more later with one or two words and no other information on it just doesn’t make any sense to me sometimes.  I send and receive e-mails every day to/from a lot of people, so it makes it easier for me to keep things straight if you INLCUDE MY PREVIOUS RESPONSE in your e-mail reply.

Also, PLEASE FILL OUT THE SUBJECT OF YOUR E-MAIL when contacting me.  I don’t open e-mails with no subject or suspicious unknown attachments because they look like they might contain viruses or trojans or SPAM.

Last thing, if you don’t get a response from me the first time, PLEASE REACH ME AGAIN, because some of your e-mails might have gotten caught in my SPAM TRAP.

I am currently processing applications for Free Domains (of your choice: .com/.net/.org), but some applications are being denied and deleted because they do not meet our qualifications.

On the application form for Free Domains, it clearly states that all applicants must already have an established site with an HQ design, good content and regular blog updates.  Some of you are applying for sites that either don’t exist or they do exist, but they have nothing on them.  Please read the application before you apply, don’t just fill out the application and ignore everything else or you will not get a Free Domain from FanStar.org.

If you do not have a pre-existing site that meets our qualifications, you may apply for a Free Subdomain account here at FanStar.org instead.  I do not buy Free Domains for brand new sites.  If you have any questions, please contact us.  Thank you!

The domain adoption process will be changing!

I have decided to change the Free Domains adoption process, because I keep adopting domains out to people who don’t actually do anything with the domains. The domains often just sit there and the sites never get built, so I will be screening people more thoroughly before I allow domains to be adopted from FanStar.org. We currently have a bunch of Free Domains available for adoption, but I will only be adopting those domains out to experienced people who already know how to build and maintain a website. zendayadaily.com had been adopted by Jackie on 12/19/2011, but she never built and opened the site, so I am putting zendayadaily.com back up for adoption again. If you want to adopt zendayadaily.com, please apply BEFORE 1/28/2012 or this domain will expire and will not be renewed. If you adopt it, it will be renewed.
